DE CINE DE LA ANTÁRTICA SOBRE
MEDIO AMBIENTE Y SUSTENTABILIDAD
Conformamos un equipo de personas encantadas del lugar en que vivimos, la tierra. La Antártica se ha mantenido como el ecosistema menos intervenido por el humano. Respetar, reconocer, reflexionar y resguardarlo es parte del gusto de FICAMS, Festival Internacional de Cine de la Antártica sobre Medioambiente y Sustentabilidad. Esperamos dar cuenta a la comunidad local, nacional e inter-nacional de la importancia antártica y las implicancias positivas que genera vivir acorde y en equilibrio con el ambiente. Queremos crear instancias de aprendizaje, diálogo y capacitación respecto a temas medioambientales, de cambio climático, energías renovables y prácticas sustentables. Intentamos proyectar una manera de entender y vivir en este planeta evitando su abuso, que sea saludable con todo el medioambiente y que genere reflexión frente a como actuamos con nuestro entorno.

We are a team that loves the place we live in, la tierra.Antarctica has remain as the ecosystem less modified by us, humans. To res-pect, to acknowledge, to think about and to protect it is part of what we can leave after FICAMS Through this festival we hope to show the importance of Antarctica and the positive aftermath of equilibrium with the environment. We try to create instances of teaching, learning and dialoguing about environmental issues, recycling, renewable energies, and sustainable practices. We try to cast a way of understanding and living on earth, avoiding abusing it. Healthier to our surroundings and that generates a positive change.

In Chile, pumas are seriously threatened, and only in two regions: Aysen and Magallanes they are not in an inminent danger of disappearing. Experts say that inside the 242.000 Ha of Torres del Paine National Park there are no more than 25 resident individuals. The rest are by-passers.

Virginia Traub pintora y ceramista de Chillán, con exposiciones colectivas e individuales en chile y Estados Unidos.Realiza la estatuilla del primer FICAMS con barros de la zona de Ñuble, área con amplia tradición en cerámicas tradicionales y experimentales. En su propuesta incluye el trabajo de distintos tipos de barros para lograr con sus cualidades naturales las tonalidades y colores del trabajo. Se utilizan procedimientos de modelado y cocido con energías naturales.
Virginia is an multidisciplinary artista from Chillán. Has participated in numerous colective and individual expositions in Chile and USA. She has made the recordatory piece of art of the first FICAMS utilizing clays from Ñuble rural area, where there is a tradition using this material. Her proposal includes the use of different types of clays to give the piece its characteristics on color and texture. Procedures on modeling and kilning are derived from natural energies.
