Compared to the large population growth, it is estimated an increase in theeconomically active population in nearly 50,000 habitants for the next 30 years, sothat the Municipality of Manta, fixed as one of its major objectives the employmentgeneration through the development of new areas and economic roles in theterritory, with the incorporation of 2 Proposals:

Mancomunidad Manta - Montecristi – Jaramijó, en una longitud aproximada de30 km., para plataformas de servicios logísticos y emprendimientos industrialesdiversos, relacionados con la Pesca, Comercio, Tecnología, Agropecuaria,Petroquímica, Artesanía, etc., que provoquen la integración Ciudad -Puerto –Región - País, constituyéndose en la consecuencia lógica y complementaria de losmacro proyectos localizados por el Presidente Econ. Rafael Correa, en la Provinciade Manabí, así como la incorporación de los grandes proyectos Hídricos y Vialesrealizados por el Gobierno en la Región.
Este proyecto articula el eje Manta - Manaos, con la Cuenca del Pacífico
