A European Nanotechnology Action Plan 2010-2015: Realising the potential of Nanotechnologies for Europe
El nuevo Action Plan está basado en tres pilares:
1. Fortalecer el proceso de Innovación en Nanotecnología2. Asegurar altos niveles de protección para los consumidores,
trabajadores y el medio ambiente3. Fortalecer la dimensión social de las nanotecnologías
A pesar de que el nuevo Plan de acción estádirigido por la Innovación, los pilares 2 y 3 sontambién requisitos esenciales para que Europase pueda beneficiar de las Nanotecnologías.

• Cambiar el énfasis de los temas puros de nanociencia a los de nanotecnología. Apostar por sectores con grandes implicaciones sociales: Environment, Energy and Health
• Apoyar los sectores principales de las ETPs más relevantes para NMP: Construcción, Transporte, Textiles, Forestal; Food...
• Promover que se incluya contribución industrial en la actividad de investigación de prenormativa y seguridad de las nanopartículas. Aplicar aproximaciones más holísticas.
• Buscar las áreas más prometedoras con gran impacto Europeo, usando más a menudo el esquema LARGE con actividades de DEMO cuando sea relevante
