Cuando las condiciones son óptimas, operando a la capacidad de diseño los costos unitarios son menores en el sistema de mayor capacidad, como consecuencia de economías de escala, pero si un sistema estásobre diseñado y subutilizado sus costos unitarios son mayores que los de un sistema dimensionado de manera adecuada al volumen manejado.

Al Este están ubicados puertos de Alemania, Polonia, losPaíses Bálticos, Rusia y Finlandia así como parte de las costas de Suecia y Dinamarca. (Si en el caso regional, el puerto petrolero, el de contenedores y el de carbón se ubican al Norte del Estrecho, poco va a ser el tráfico hacia el Sur.)

The conveyor system will have the abilit y to haniron - ore at a d ischarge rate of 6000mtph (million tonnes per[2,500 m © p̄e r hour]). Discharge will be through hydraulically operated gates, fitted toutlet hoppers in th e bottom o f th e cargoholds, onto longitudhold conveyors o n tan k top le vel. The hold conveyors dis cthe material onto cross co n ve yors located mid ships transferring the materia l to the inclined conveyor. The inclineconveyor runs forw ard an d discharges the materia l ontransfer conveyor on deck. The transfer conveyor feedlongitudinal tripper conveyor.
