Curso: Estética y Filosofía de la Percepción, nuevos enfoques.

Descripción y objetivos generales del curso:
El curso se propone, en primer lugar, ofrecer una revisión crítica de algunos de los acercamientos recientes de la filosofía a las ciencias experimentales, en el presente caso, en relación con los estudios empíricos de la percepción visual, la atención y la acción. En segundo lugar, queremos considerar las consecuencias de adoptar el giro naturalista para la filosofía en general, y en particular, para la filosofía de las artes. Además de caracterizar brevemente lo que podríamos llamar un enfoque naturalista, se discutirán también algunas de las principales objeciones a estas nuevas propuestas y se tratarán algunos de los problemas arriba mencionados en casos puntuales de la percepción/recepción de las artes, principalmente en el cine y la pintura como registros de experiencias perceptuales.
Objetivos particulares:
El curso se propone actualizar a los alumnos sobre debates recientes y nuevas orientaciones en la filosofía, así como considerar sus implicaciones para la teoría estética. También, ofrecer análisis puntuales sobre obras relevantes para los temas propuestos.

Reseñas orales y escritas de las lecturas asignadas y un ensayo final para calificar el curso. Se tomará también en cuenta la asistencia y participación en clase.

TEMA 4. La atención como un problema de las artes.
Implicaciones de las investigaciones recientes en las ciencias empíricas para las concepciones tradicionales de la percepción visual. Los modos de representación empleados en las artes visuales como registros de experiencias perceptuales. En especial, los modos de observación y experimentación no instrumentales. El papel de la “distracción” y otros modos no canónicos de atención en la práctica de las artes.
Estudio de dos casos: el tema de la distracción en la literatura del siglo XVIII y la relación entre las nociones de la percepción de las ciencias del siglo XIX y la pintura de los Impresionistas y Neo-‐Impresionistas (en particular, el caso de Manet).
